Dec 25th: New Y model (Australia). My anxiety and fear are growing after 3,000 km:

1. Decreases speed at the lower limit takes -w-a-y- too long (or not at all) to happen.
2. Changing lanes into the breakdown bay several hundred meters prior to the necessary exit.

3. Road that is open. I occasionally have trouble detecting speed. Regularly quite low. Even while blind, every single one of the other toys can detect.
4. Improper behaviour at intersections with corners. Other drivers will have to wait for you to signal before they can leave a roundabout if you don't. Unpopularity and disruption of the flow ensue.
5. While automatic high beam is convenient, it's becoming increasingly common to see motorways with low concrete dividing walls. The truck's distinctive orange lights and the dip in their intensity are visible. Angry truckers are a result of the Y's failure to dim that segment. Also a few automobiles. Driving only in manual mode on this road surface is recommended.
6. Remains in the "high beam" mode until the button is removed. The press should cause it to dip.
Seven, the button for the headlight beam and the flash are the same. When you press the dip button, flash activates, seemingly bypassing matrix, and everyone gets full blast until you release the button.
8. Turning on FSD when driving at night activates high beam automatically. On most occasions, it's fine, but refer to the section above.
9. Signals for things I don't understand at random. Far too tiny to see and vanish before our eyes. Is a record kept?
10. Despite prodding, the target speed is not maintained most of the time. It's annoying for everyone when people drive 10% slower than the speed limit (the allowed maximum is 10% higher).
11. On sometimes, transitioning onto a side road requires a late stop and heavy braking. Not at all essential. Thankfully, nobody in close pursuit.
12. Drove nearly entirely across both center lines twice, once directly into oncoming traffic!
13. Attempted to yield at a T-intersection but was unsuccessful. I slammed on the brakes, but the vehicle barely avoided me. Would have been absolutely fantastic.
14. Getting out onto the gravel side street can be confusing. Frequently fails to notice it and gets disoriented, acting strangely, such as slowly driving on the opposite side of the road.
15. Road appears to be clear of traffic. Occasionally swerving to go into the fast lane, but usually staying still.
16. There was this incident where I had to brake to get behind him because the driver merging onto the motorway completely disregarded the B-Double in the slow lane.

Participating in Elon's beta (or was it alpha?) software project started to feel like a huge financial burden.

If you keep looking, you should find enough to double the items on your list.

It sounds like a lot of the drivers I encounter on a daily basis.

There are some significant variations between the North American and Australian versions of FSD, as far as I can tell. For example, I recall that, up until about a month ago, the speed settings were different. Are there any speed profiles available at this time?

The service menu has a log for notifications. The display does not include all of them, though. Yes, I do think that many alerts go by far too quickly to make out what they were

Your thoughts on the present state of FSD are spot on. God, I'm glad I only bought enough for a month. Two times, FSD caused the vehicle to cross double solid lines into oncoming traffic by putting it on the incorrect side of the road. Just thinking about all the mistakes and setbacks in other areas makes me want to throw it out and give it some space to heal before giving it another go. In my opinion, the risk associated with using this software is too high.

When talking about FSD, version numbers are helpful. Additionally, if you're looking for American-specific matching versions, you may find them in their own thread.

Excellent synthesis of several issues with FSD. Without major advancements in hardware, Tesla's method is unlikely to ever be effective. It would take more than a handful of visible-light cameras to capture the flawless execution of three tonnes of metal hurtling down the road at highway speeds.

Waymo's autonomous vehicles do the following:

4 spinning devices on the primary array (front, sides, and rear) and 1 high-resolution unit on the roof for mapping make up the LiDAR system, which has a total of 5.
There are a total of thirteen to twenty-nine cameras: fourteen in the main configuration (8 front, four sides, and three back), plus twelve more on top for stitching 360-degree views.
Six units of radar (2 front, 2 side, and 2 rear).
There are eight ultrasonic sensors for frontal and rear obstacle detection at close range.

Teslas are equipped with eight external cameras, one of which frequently needs to be cleaned frequently in order to work well in inclement weather. Even while Waymo cars are always spotless, it's not uncommon to encounter filthy Teslas like mine. I will wait till my Tesla is equipped with LiDAR, radar, and ultrasonic sensors, in addition to daily washing, before I consider FSD reliable enough.

In our AT4 EV from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, I tested out the hands-free Super Cruise feature, but I'm not a fan.
Become disoriented as the highway's passenger side expanded to accommodate an onramp; swerved erratically within the lane.
Even though I'm not drunk, I can still smell alcohol on my breath and the truck is acting erratically behind the wheel; I could end up pulled over by LEOS and taken to the shoulder of the road for a DUI test.
