Installing side stairs is considered a modification, thus it's important to inform your insurance carrier. Although there may not be any additional charges, failing to report it might affect your claim.

It shows you connecting wires to the fusebox and riding on top of a fuse (perhaps for puddle lights; I didn't examine well enough) in the most recent edition of the sidesteps installation instructions. Either way, it may be different.
