Greetings everyone, The temperature in Finland has already dropped below freezing, and I am curious about the method by which vehicles are heated. I have seen that pre-heating the car requires over 3 kW of power. Upon investigation of the components, it appears that the HV electric heater KR9P-61FHX is utilised, which is rated for 190-450V and has an output power of 7kW. The vehicle is equipped with an AC compressor from Hanon Systems, model KR9P, rated for 350V. Are you aware if this compressor may also function as a heat pump for heating purposes? I am interested in the heating system, specifically how the inside is heated and whether this heating is also applicable to the engine. Any information would be welcomed. Salutations

I possess the identical type, also from 2023. The heating water pump was recently replaced by Mazda under warranty. The vehicle now heats in electric vehicle mode immediately after initial start, a function that was previously unavailable unless the petrol engine was warmed up and operational.

Fascinating subject. My investigation is not as extensive as yours, but you are likely correct regarding the heating requirement of 3kW, as a 2.5kW home charger cannot sustain it and resorts to battery usage instead. I am curious whether a car linked to a 7kW charger can charge while heating.

The 7kW charger operates same; it utilises only the battery, not the charger itself.
The design is fundamentally flawed.
Rather than enhancing range, all systems are powered by the EV battery.

Have you had any more problems with the electric vehicle aside from the heating malfunction? Mine disabled EV mode with half of the battery still available. There are no heating issues; nonetheless, I will attempt to deactivate it for testing purposes.

When I connect my vehicle to the home charger and charge it to full capacity, after activating the preheating function, the battery remains unaffected.

Intriguing. My device behaves differently. I must transmit two messages from the application to the vehicle: 1. Preheat and 2. Charge.

Does the green light at the charge port flash during the car's preheating process?

Last night, I fully charged the vehicle to 100% and left it attached to the wallbox.
This morning, I activated the preheating through the app, which then reactivated the wallbox.
Following the notification indicating the car had overheated, I re-examined the battery percentage, which remained at 100%.

No light illuminates or flashes on the exterior of the automobile at the charging port during preheating. The on/off button on your air conditioning unit illuminates orange during the preheating phase.

I have not verified the capability to charge and preheat concurrently; that will be addressed in the future.

This issue may be as straightforward as the automobile initiating additional charging during preheating, yet the charger fails to commence due to the requirement for separate authorisation.
