Hello everyone, I own a 2013 F10 530D LCI Auto.
A bizarre noise that sounds like it's coming from the rear end and is a kind of "thwock"-type banging noise started to develop yesterday, especially when you're travelling over even little bumps. Though not too loud, it is perceptible. However, this is simply from cold; it appears to go gone after five minutes of driving. After a few minutes, it starts up again and stops if you park for an hour and then drive away.
Could it be the exhaust banging, I wondered?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I would start by examining the anti-rollbar linkages on the back.

Thank you; I'll have a garage look at them. However, why would it go as soon as the vehicle warmed up?

It may not be that, however this in your description " Especially when going over even small bumps" made me believe i may be as they tend to knock even going over sightly increase drain/manhole covers.

I've discovered today that it occurs (when cold) while taking a right hand turn (not a right hand curve, but going right onto another road) - Doesn't appear to do it on a left turn (although I can't be 100%)

That only implies the issue is the left hand side and suspension since a worn exhaust hanger would do this all the time.
