Unless anybody has any other recommendations, I'm thinking about getting these side steps for my 2022 MY21 GT Line S.
Despite the fact that they state that Kia has
The web directions aren't very helpful, in my opinion.
Does anybody know where the underlights go if they have been installed before?

By entering your registration number, you should be able to verify that the instructions provided below are appropriate for your vehicle: https://service.kia.com/OnlineAccessories/.

I am aware that they ought to be a good match . Based on the online manuals I've read, the directions are terrible, so I was hoping to get some input on where the power attaches and if there are any better ones.

You would have to run new electrics since I had no idea Kia performed side stairs with installed lights (or did they?).
The lower door sills have a varied form as well. According to the image's arrow, the silver strip represents the bottom of the door sill of the 4th generation Sportage, which is contoured and extends beneath the door.

The fifth-generation Sportage has a new door shape with a flat sill and a flush-fitting door with the bottom. Doubtful that a side step from a fourth-generation Sportage would fit.

My particular model is a fairly late 4th generation
They already have the lights up; now we need to figure out where the signal is coming from.

It is still uncertain if there will be a pre-wired electric harness.
Your vehicle is, in fact, a late-model fourth-generation model. After the 5th generation was unveiled in 2021, the first vehicles began to roll off the assembly line in early 2022. When posting, you may have to educate members.
