I recently purchased a Kia Ceed 1L TGDi from a used automobile store, who performed a service prior to my collection of the vehicle. I enquired about the type of engine oil and coolant utilised, to which the salesman responded, "synthetic oil." I attempted to get further details, but he merely stated that it originates from a large container, and that is the extent of his knowledge.
I possess limited knowledge on automobiles, although I am concerned that this may not conform to the appropriate specifications for my vehicle. I seek guidance on what actions to take. The alternatives I have devised are to email the dealership to request detailed information regarding the oil utilised, or to take the vehicle to a Kia dealership for servicing, ensuring that the engine oil and coolant are flushed to confirm the correct items are employed.
Thank you.
The secondhand automobile dealership may have utilised incorrect oil.

In cases of uncertainty, replace the oil. At my previous dealership, we utilised 10-30 bulk in 1000-liter delivery, whereas other less common products were procured in 199-liter barrels, to the best of my knowledge.

Only one year remaining on the warranty. Is the service book appropriately stamped, with one stamp per 12 months, unless the vehicle has exceeded the mileage limit within that period?

The Kia warranty is valid alone if accompanied by a receipt detailing the parts utilised, provided the service was performed by a non-Kia dealer.

Errors occur; my rather uncommon Mitsubishi Grandis Petrol was inadvertently filled with diesel-specific oil, since the workshop was used to servicing a petrol engine variant.
If the garage cannot provide specificity, request a change, but forfeit any remaining warranty.

Synthetic oil surpasses conventional oil in quality and is also more costly.

Synthetic oil is currently the most prevalent variety available. In many archaic automobiles, synthetic oil cannot be utilised until all the outdated seals and bearings have been replaced.
They may have utilised an incorrect oil type; however, synthetic oil, being a synthesised composition, is not inherently detrimental. If one uses oil that does not meet ACEA C3 specifications in an engine requiring ACEA C3, it may lead to complications, especially after extensive mileage, resulting in increased wear due to an inappropriate additive package, among other issues.
I would not be concerned, my friend; if they have maintained it and it remains unused, then no significant damage has occurred.
